China to the UAE, As an economic hub in the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates has stringent quality and safety requirements for imported goods. For tire exporters, it is essential to understand and comply with these requirements.
According to UAE regulations, retailers are prohibited from selling new tires that have been manufactured for more than two years. Each tire has a service life of five years (calculated from the date of manufacture). Any tire that has been produced for more than five years, regardless of whether it has been used or not, is strictly prohibited from entering the market.
UAE regulations also require that new tires must be able to withstand temperatures above 50 degrees Celsius. The tires must be marked with the production date, maximum temperature tolerance, size, quality grade, and other relevant information, using durable labeling materials. The packaging of the tires must meet requirements for moisture resistance, dust prevention, and shock absorption to ensure the safety of the products during transportation.
The stringent requirements for tires in the UAE primarily stem from the following two factors:
First, the environmental conditions in the UAE: The vast majority of the UAE consists of deserts and low-lying areas, where uneven road surfaces can cause significant impact on tires, potentially leading to issues such as air leakage, cracks, bulges, and deformation.
Second, the high temperatures in the UAE: The UAE has a tropical desert climate, with hot and dry summers where temperatures can reach 40.6°C to 48.2°C. During summer, the ground surface temperature in the UAE can even exceed 50 degrees Celsius. This places greater pressure on tires, and the rising temperatures accelerate rubber wear, which can lead to tire blowouts.
The unique environmental and climatic conditions in the UAE increase the rate of tire wear and tear. As a result, the UAE government places great emphasis on the quality of tires and their subsequent maintenance, which, to some extent, also increases the demand for tires in the UAE.
The UAE has strict requirements for tire quality standards. Tires must comply with international standards and pass tests conducted by relevant certification bodies. These standards include tire wear resistance, skid resistance, blowout resistance, and more. Only after passing these tests can tires be allowed entry into the UAE market.
