Can Kitchenware Products Be Exported to Saudi

Can kitchenware products be exported to Saudi? Kitchenware products can be exported to Saudi, and due to the growth of the tourism industry driving the expansion of the food and beverage sector, there is an explosive increase in demand for commercial kitchen equipment such as ovens and refrigeration appliances. Additionally, the strong bilateral trade relations between China and Saudi provide favorable conditions for kitchenware exports. However, several compliance requirements must be met before exporting, with the key points as follows:

Mandatory Saber Certification: This is a critical requirement for exporting kitchenware to Saudi. It is a mandatory online certification system introduced by the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO). Kitchenware products and general tableware fall under the scope of this certification. The certification process consists of two parts: PCOC and SCOC. The PCOC is valid for one year, while the SCOC is required for each shipment and must be applied for using the PCOC. Without this certification, customs clearance cannot be completed.

Halal Certification for Certain Products: Saudi imposes strict Halal certification standards on kitchen equipment that comes into contact with food, with clear requirements regarding material selection and production environment. For example, products like buffet burners and tableware that directly contact food must comply with these standards. Products with Halal certification are more readily accepted in the market. For instance, Chinese-made Halal-certified buffet burners have seen significant sales growth in Saudi.

Product Performance and Labeling Requirements: On one hand, due to high summer temperatures in Saudi, exported kitchenware must emphasize heat resistance and heat dissipation design to adapt to the local climate. On the other hand, electrical kitchen appliances, in addition to Saber certification, must comply with SASO standards for electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility. Additionally, product labels must be bilingual in Arabic and English, indicating the product name, model, manufacturer, and other relevant information. Instruction manuals must also be provided in Arabic.
