Many customers encounter situations where they need to modify the product name or declared value after shipment. To clarify: whether modifications are allowed depends on the current logistics stage of the goods and must strictly comply with customs regulations. Modifications are not absolutely permitted or prohibited.

In accordance with the Customs of the People's Republic of China Regulations on the Administration of Import and Export Goods Declaration, after customs accepts the declaration, the customs declaration documents and their contents shall not be modified in principle, except under specific circumstances.

• If the goods have not been declared or loaded, you may apply to modify the product name and declared value. You will need to update supporting documents such as commercial invoices and packing lists simultaneously. The process is straightforward with low additional costs.
• If the goods have been declared but not departed, modifications require applying to customs for cancellation and re-declaration. Upon approval, the logistics system information will be corrected accordingly. This process is complicated, may incur extra fees, and could trigger customs inspection.
• If the goods have departed, arrived at the port, or cleared customs, modifications to product name and declared value are generally not possible. Forced applications may be regarded as false declaration, resulting in cargo detention, fines, or even return.
