As a key trade hub in the Middle East, Dubai’s air freight door-to-door service is highly popular among cross-border shippers for its fast transit and smooth customs clearance. To ensure trouble-free customs clearance and avoid inspections, cargo holds or delays caused by incomplete or inconsistent documents, full compliant paperwork must be prepared in strict accordance with UAE customs regulations.
Basic Required Customs Documents
- Commercial Invoice: Must clearly state full details of the shipper and consignee, as well as accurate product description, model, quantity, unit price, total value and currency. Under-reporting or false declaration is strictly prohibited.
- Packing List: Should specify gross weight, net weight, carton quantity and packing specifications for each package, fully consistent with the invoice and actual cargo.
- Air Waybill: As the transport document, it must contain correct consignee/consignor information, product description and weight with no discrepancies.

Supplementary Documents for Special Cargo
- Certificate of Origin for goods eligible for preferential tariffs;
- Brand authorization letter for branded products to prevent infringement;
- Product test reports, conformity certificates and import permits for food, cosmetics, medical devices and other regulated goods;
- Non-hazardous guarantee and relevant certifications for battery-powered, magnetic or other sensitive items.
- All documents must be consistent, legible and match both the paperwork and the actual goods to avoid customs inspections.
