Once inspected, such goods will be directly identified as contraband, subject to seizure and confiscation, and may even trigger legal liabilities. They represent absolute red lines for cross‑border logistics, which both freight forwarders and sellers must strictly avoid.
First, illegal dangerous goods are zero‑tolerance contraband. This category includes all types of narcotics, anaesthetics and CBD‑containing products, flammable and explosive articles, corrosive and radioactive substances. Firearms, ammunition, controlled knives, simulated weapons and their accessories are also subject to immediate seizure and are strictly prohibited for shipment.
Second, items violating religious norms and public morality, in compliance with Dubai's Islamic cultural regulations. Pork and pork‑derived products, alcoholic beverages, books, videos and artworks that contradict Islamic doctrines, as well as pornography‑related and gambling‑related equipment and materials, are explicitly banned from import and are not allowed for warehouse storage or customs clearance.
Third, policy‑regulated and special contraband. Endangered plant and animal products, live plants and animals and specimens without valid quarantine certificates, and retreaded waste tyres are strictly prohibited from entry. In addition, under the 2026 new regulations, single‑use plastic tableware, thin‑gauge plastic shopping bags and other plastic‑ban restricted items, unauthorised pharmaceuticals, and surveillance and eavesdropping devices will also be directly ruled as contraband by customs. Do not ship such goods in violation of regulations.
